**Sanctuary Update!** We have been working hard to get things set up, and prepare to take in our next Senior Dog here at Sadie's Golden Years.
We recently found a perfect building to purchase and bring to our property to serve as the home for our future retirees! It's a large home, with two rooms, and it's a lovely home for the dogs we are eager to save.
It does need some fine tuning to make it even more comfortable, we will be purchasing a mini split to provide heat and air conditioning to assure the home is comfy in ALL seasons!
We bought the home from a sweet woman in our neighborhood. When we went to purchase the home, we learned that she loves dogs dearly as well. Our trip to purchase a home changed our plans temporarily...
Our neighbor was caring for two younger dogs (one is 3 years old, one is 4 years old). Her neighbor passed away, leaving the dogs in need of a home, and she was lovely enough to step up for these dogs to assure they were cared for. She has been caring for them, however, she is moving out of state, and these dogs are finding themself again in need of a home.
One of our main goals in the sanctuary is to take in dogs when their owners pass... these dogs have done nothing wrong, but oftentimes without a plan to care for your pets in the event of a death, these dogs end up in dire need of a home and care.
While these dogs are younger, and not in our target demographic of adoptions, we have made the decision to temporarily foster these dogs. We will be bringing them to our property shortly, where they will be fed and cared for, until we find them an appropriate forever home.
These sweet dogs are BIG dogs. One is an Anatolian Shepherd, and one a Great Pyrenees. They have been outdoor dogs for much of their life.
They are in need of veterinary check ups to assure they have a clean bill of health before we consider adopting them out.
Additionally, we need to do the final work on our property before bringing the building we purchased for the dogs over.
We need to prepare the ground to make sure drainage is adequate (to keep the building we have invested into in optimal condition for years to come).
We know fostering these dogs is the right thing to do.
Sadie's Golden Years is requesting donations.
Any amount helps. The best way to donate to us is through our Zelle Account, this goes directly to our NonProfit Banking.
Zelle: sadiesgoldenyears@gmail.com
You can also donate through PayPal.
We are also requesting something, if you are able: Please share our website and our needs with two other people. It takes a village to help save dogs, and we could really use the support from wide and far.
THANK YOU FOR supporting DOGS!!!!
A nonprofit is only as strong as the community that supports it. When a community pulls together, everything is possible. We are proudly a 501(c)3, which means your donation to our sanctuary is tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by the law. Please reference our EIN number 85-2681667.
We welcome donors to visit the sanctuary and meet the pack (with prior communication and approval from us). Imagine, what a beautiful moment it will be when you are thanked by an animal whose life you were able to save.
We provide holistic care and end of life comfort. We know when we take our dogs in, their time with us might be short. We focus on offering them a place in the pack, and filling their days with love and respect. This includes their final day with us.
Our animals know they are loved and valued, and that at their passing, they will be missed by their pack.
Thank you for supporting senior dogs!!!
